I live with 4 of my own rescue dogs, aged 2-13, all of which are on a fresh food diet. I made the change with my eldest dog, Willow, over 10 years ago and saw instant improvements to coat, skin, stools, teeth, behaviour and more. This then led down a rabbit hole of constantly researching, reading studies, looking at latest products, different brands and continuing to learn as much as I could.
I've been working with dogs in one capacity or another for over 10 years, including working with some of the biggest rescues and as a trainer for Valley's Dog Behaviour and Training
I'm constantly working on CPD, whether for training/behaviour or for nutrition. So if I'm not at work with dogs, then I'm teaching others with their dogs, and if I'm not doing that then I'm training my own dogs, and if I'm not doing that, then I'm studying something to do with dog. It really very much is all about the dogs!
One of the things that fascinates me most is the link between nutrition and behaviour, having a background in both, and the impact that diet has on behaviour. From microbiome, to neurotransmitters, to different bacterium found in dogs displaying different behaviours, vitamin absorption and more. Diet plays such a key part in our dogs behaviour!
I treat each dog as an individual case, with a holistic approach that encompasses every part of diet, as well as anything else that's going in or around our dogs. Consults are held online, so you can be anywhere in the UK.
So, if you're looking for a science backed, evidence based, nerdy deep dive into your dog's diet, looking at ways to improve that itchy skin, or that recurring ear problem, or that acid reflux, or patchy skin, or just general improvement of diet, then Nurturing Canine Nutrition is for you!
